Environment

Global warming is the ultimate world-wide issue. And it's clear that everyone has a role to play in combating climate change. At Vax we're reducing our impact on landfill by helping our customers to maintain and prolong the life of their Vax machines.

We're also helping the environment by cutting back on polystyrene in our packaging. To date we have reduced our polystyrene usage by 50% and we're planning to move to completely polystyrene free packaging by the end of 2010.

And we're also looking at reducing the size of our packaging. This spells good news for trees. And we can fit more of our smaller cartons on each shipping pallet, streamlining our 'machine miles'.

Finally, increasing the size of our solution bottles gives you more -and produces less packaging per litre of solution in the process.

Environmental Regulations

At Vax we comply with WEEE legislative standards; RoHS regulations and we provide COSHH information for all our cleaning solutions.

Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment

The European WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment) is a regulation that aims to reduce the levels of electrical and electronic household waste.

Since 2007 manufacturers of domestic electrical products such as Vax are now responsible for ensuring that products that have reached the end of their life are recycled in a safe way. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.

All Vax products comply with the WEEE legislative standards.

RoHS

RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment regulations 2005) has been in force since July 2006 and is applicable in all EU countries.

RoHS aims to reduce the amount of potentially harmful materials that are put into the environment when a product reaches the end of its life. It limits the levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium and the flame-retardants PBB (Polybrominted biphenyl) and PBDE (Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether) in domestic appliances.

Most Vax products manufactured in 2005 and all products manufactured after 1st July comply with RoHS regulations.

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health

To aid you in making assessments for you Health & Safety requirements we have provided the COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) information for our cleaning solutions.
